Static Vertex Maps

There are 6 plugins that can create procedurally vertex maps based on various criteria like mesh geometry, lighting, mesh deformations, mesh animation.

Topology Vertex Maps : 5 static (fast and some unique modes eg. curvature) and 2 deformation modes
Influence Point : 5 static and 4 dynamic modes
Nitro Vertex : ambient occlusion (extremely slow to calculate)
Difference Map : objects deformations
PLAVelocity : points velocity
Vertex AO : ambient occlusion and facing proximity

Topology Vertex Maps offers 5 static modes. Each is calculated very swiftly :

Ambient Occlusion

Mesh Density

Mesh Curvature

Volume Depth

Shadow

Influence Point offers 4 static modes, which are recalculated on each action, this significantly slows down C4D. Thickness mode is extremely slow on larger meshes, which makes it almost unusable on meshes with > 100kPoly.

Position

Geometry Density

Angle

Thickness (very slow)
(model had to be strongly decimated)

Rotation (angle to a target object)
